ORLANDO, Fla. — The Savannah State Tigers of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) put on an impressive display of grit and determination at the second day of the annual SIAC Crossover Tournament. Despite facing stiff competition, the Tigers managed to earn a split, losing to the formidable Tuskegee Golden Tigers but bouncing back to defeat their in-state rival, the Albany State Rams.

In the opening game, Savannah State faced off against Tuskegee, a perennial powerhouse in the SIAC. The Golden Tigers, led by their standout players, proved to be a tough opponent. "Our team never quit, even when the odds were stacked against us," said Savannah State head coach Horace Broadnax. "That's the kind of determination and pride that defines HBCU basketball."

Though Savannah State ultimately fell to Tuskegee, the narrow margin of defeat demonstrated the team's ability to compete at the highest level. This performance only served to heighten the anticipation for their next matchup against Albany State, another fierce rival from the Peach State.

In the second game, the Tigers roared back to life, showcasing their offensive prowess and defensive tenacity.

Led by their star players, Savannah State overwhelmed Albany State, earning a much-needed victory and cementing their status as a force to be reckoned with in the SIAC.
