HBCU Softball Stars Shine in MEAC Weekly Honors

NORFOLK, Va., Mar. 2, 2026 – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), one of the premier NCAA Division I conferences for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), has announced its weekly softball honors, recognizing the standout performances of several talented student-athletes.

Highlighting the achievements is Norfolk State junior Maddy Morris, who has been named the MEAC Softball Player of the Week. Morris, a key member of the Norfolk State Spartans, has proven herself as a dominant force on the diamond, showcasing her exceptional skills and leadership.

Joining Morris in the weekly accolades is her teammate, Peyton Moran, who has earned the MEAC Rookie of the Week honor. Moran's impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, as she has demonstrated her potential to be a rising star in the conference.

Also recognized for her outstanding contributions is Morgan State's Serena Rodriguez, who has been named the MEAC Pitcher of the Week.
