ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), one of the premier NCAA Division II conferences for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), has announced its Baseball Players of the Week for the week of March 3. This recognition shines a well-deserved spotlight on the exceptional talent and dedication of HBCU student-athletes who are making waves on the baseball diamond.

Benedict College's Kent Johnson and Savannah State University's Austin McCormack were the two players honored for their standout performances last week. These young men exemplify the drive, skill, and unwavering spirit that characterize HBCU athletics, and their achievements are a source of immense pride for their respective institutions and the broader HBCU community.

His clutch hitting and power display were instrumental in Savannah State's success, showcasing the depth of talent within the university's baseball program.
