ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), one of the premier NCAA Division II conferences for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), has announced its Softball Players of the Week for the week of March 3. This prestigious recognition shines a well-deserved spotlight on the exceptional talents and achievements of HBCU student-athletes who are making waves in the world of collegiate softball.

Avery Fisher of Albany State University and Donnea Allen of Savannah State University were the two standout performers honored in this week's SIAC Softball Player of the Week awards.

Avery Fisher, Albany State University

Avery Fisher, a standout player for the Albany State University Golden Rams, had an exceptional week on the diamond. The junior outfielder batted an impressive .600 (6-for-10) with a double, a triple, and 4 RBIs. Fisher's performance helped lead the Golden Rams to a series victory over conference rival Fort Valley State University.

Donnea Allen, Savannah State University

Donnea Allen, a senior infielder for the Savannah State University Tigers, put together a dominant offensive display last week.



Allen hit .545 (6-for-11) with 2 home runs, 2 doubles, and 7 RBIs. Her clutch performances were instrumental in the Tigers' series win against the Benedict College Tigers.
