MEAC Women's Tennis Stars Shine for North Carolina Central

NORFOLK, Va., Mar. 3, 2026 – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced its weekly women's tennis honors, and two student-athletes from North Carolina Central University have taken home the top awards.

Alejandra Hidalgo Vega, a senior at North Carolina Central, has been named the MEAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Hidalgo Vega has been a standout performer for the Eagles all season, showcasing her exceptional skills on the court and leading her team to success.

Joining Hidalgo Vega in the winner's circle is her teammate, Sara Barbaric, who has been named the MEAC Rookie of the Week. As a first-year player, Barbaric has made a significant impact, demonstrating her potential and contributing to the team's overall success.
