JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The women's basketball team at Edward Waters University, an HBCU in Jacksonville, Florida, has accomplished a historic milestone for their program and the entire HBCU community.

For the first time ever at the Division II level, the Edward Waters Tigers have earned a spot in the NCAA Division II South Regional Tournament. This remarkable achievement marks a significant moment not just for the Tigers, but for all HBCU athletics programs striving to compete at the highest levels of collegiate sports.

The Tigers secured their historic tournament berth with a strong season in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), one of the premier HBCU athletic conferences. Led by Head Coach Cornelius Farmer, the Tigers finished the regular season with an impressive 19-9 overall record and 14-4 in SIAC play, earning them the No. 6 seed in the South Regional bracket.
