SIAC Honors Spring Hill and Tuskegee Softball Stars in Weekly Awards
Posted By: Will Moss on March 20, 2026

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) recognized outstanding performances on the diamond this week, announcing its Softball Players of the Week on Tuesday, March 17. Two talented student-athletes from HBCU programs earned the prestigious honors for their impressive play during games from the previous week.

Weekly Honorees: Meadow Villar of Spring Hill College and Monica Rose of Tuskegee University were named SIAC Softball Players of the Week, representing the excellence and competitive spirit that defines HBCU athletics.

Meadow Villar of Spring Hill College earned recognition for her stellar contributions to her team's success. The honor highlights the continued growth of Spring Hill's softball program and showcases the talent competing within the SIAC conference.

Joining Villar in the spotlight is Monica Rose of Tuskegee University, who also delivered standout performances that caught the attention of conference officials.

The Golden Tigers have consistently fielded competitive teams, and Rose's recognition adds another chapter to Tuskegee's proud athletic tradition.

The SIAC weekly awards program celebrates student-athletes who exemplify excellence both on the field and in the classroom. These honors shine a spotlight on the remarkable talent throughout the conference and demonstrate the high level of competition within HBCU softball.

The announcement from the conference office in Atlanta continues the SIAC's tradition of recognizing outstanding individual performances while promoting the achievements of student-athletes at member institutions. Both Villar and Rose join an elite group of players who have earned weekly recognition throughout the season.

As the softball season progresses, these awards serve as important recognition for players who are making their mark in one of the nation's premier HBCU athletic conferences. The SIAC continues to showcase the depth of talent across its member institutions, with programs like Spring Hill and Tuskegee leading the way in developing exceptional student-athletes.

Congratulations to both Meadow Villar and Monica Rose on their well-deserved recognition as SIAC Softball Players of the Week. Their achievements represent not only personal success but also the excellence of their respective programs and the conference as a whole.
