Morehouse Tigers Sweep SIAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Posted By: Will Moss on March 20, 2026

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced its Baseball Players of the Week on Tuesday, March 17, and Morehouse College dominated the honors with a pair of Tigers earning recognition for their outstanding performances on the diamond.

Robert Robinson Jr. and Ian Makle both received SIAC weekly honors following impressive showings in games played the previous week, marking a significant achievement for the Maroon Tigers baseball program.

Key Takeaway: Morehouse College swept both SIAC Baseball Player of the Week honors on March 17, showcasing the depth and talent of the Tigers' roster and reinforcing the program's competitive presence in the conference.

The dual recognition represents a proud moment for Morehouse College, one of the nation's premier HBCUs and a founding member of the SIAC. Having two student-athletes honored in the same week demonstrates the Tigers' strong start to their baseball season and the program's ability to develop elite talent at multiple positions.

The SIAC, established in 1913, is one of the oldest athletic conferences among HBCUs and continues to showcase exceptional talent across all sports.

The conference's weekly honors recognize student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding performance, leadership, and dedication both on the field and in the classroom.

These honors announced from the conference headquarters in Atlanta highlight the caliber of competition within SIAC baseball and the continued excellence of Morehouse athletics. The recognition of Robinson and Makle adds to the proud tradition of Morehouse student-athletes excelling in conference competition.

As the baseball season progresses, both players will look to build on their award-winning performances and help lead the Tigers to success in SIAC play. Their achievements serve as inspiration for HBCU student-athletes across the conference and demonstrate the high level of baseball being played at historically Black colleges and universities.

The recognition also brings positive attention to the SIAC and its member institutions, further elevating the profile of HBCU athletics on the national stage. For Morehouse supporters and HBCU baseball fans, this double honor is a point of pride and a testament to the Tigers' competitive program.
