Hendrix, a proud alumna of Florida A&M University (FAMU), is set to make HBCU history as she becomes the first representative from a historically Black college to be inducted into the 2026 National Football Cheerleaders Alumni Organization Hall of Fame. The prestigious recognition, announced by NFL Cheer Alumni, honors Hendrix alongside four other inductees for her transformative impact on professional cheerleading and her unwavering commitment to developing future leaders in the sport. Historic Achievement: Dr. Hendrix's induction marks a significant milestone as the first HBCU cheerleader to receive this national honor, showcasing the excellence and leadership cultivated at HBCUs. From FAMU to Professional ExcellenceHendrix's journey began at Florida A&M University, where she honed her performance skills and developed her passion for cheerleading as a member of the Rattlers cheer squad. Her HBCU foundation extended to Clark Atlanta University, where she pursued graduate studies while joining the Atlanta Falcons cheerleaders in 1998. During her time as a performer, Hendrix distinguished herself as a vocal leader, serving as a two-year Line Captain and earning the squad's Community Service Award. Her leadership qualities, nurtured at FAMU and Clark Atlanta, positioned her for an even greater impact beyond her performing years. 22 Seasons of Transformative LeadershipAfter retiring from performing, Dr. Hendrix has served as director for the NFL cheerleading program for the past 22 seasons, where she has revolutionized the culture and expectations for professional cheerleaders. In her role with the Falcons, she choreographs appearances and performances for the organization's broader cheer community. Her mission has always extended beyond talent.
