FAMU baseball legend Vince Coleman serving as the unlikely peacemaker between two Basketball Hall of Famers locked in a nearly 15-year feud.

During a recent appearance on ESPN Chicago radio, Charles Barkley revealed that Coleman was responsible for ending his bitter dispute with former best friend Michael Jordan. The rift between the two NBA legends had persisted since 2012, following comments Barkley made about Jordan's tenure as owner of the Charlotte Hornets.

Barkley described the moment that changed everything:

I was just chilling at the house last week and one of my good friends is Vince Coleman, the great baseball player. He says, 'Yo, I'm down here at The Grove. I'm sick of you and MJ's BS. He's right here. Y'all need to talk.' And we had a conversation, but Vince Coleman's the person who's responsible. We talked for a couple minutes.



He said, 'Man, let's get together and play golf.' And as soon as I get a break, we're gonna fly down there and spend a couple days playing golf.

• Stole 65 bases during the 1981 season, another FAMU record
• Earned 1985 National League Rookie of the Year honors with the St. Louis Cardinals
• Finished his 13-season MLB career with 752 stolen bases, ranking sixth all-time in Major League Baseball history

Coleman's excellence earned him a well-deserved spot in the Florida A&M Athletics Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the university's greatest multi-sport athletes.
