Posted By: Will Moss on April 25, 2026

The Morehouse College Maroon Tigers have cemented their legacy in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) history, claiming the 2026 SIAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship with a commanding performance in Columbia, South Carolina.

Competing at the University of South Carolina in a championship hosted by Benedict College, the Maroon Tigers dominated the competition from start to finish, amassing 176 points to secure the conference title. The victory showcased Morehouse's depth and versatility across all track and field disciplines.

Historic Achievement: The outdoor championship marks the completion of a historic "Triple Crown" for the Morehouse Maroon Tigers, representing an unprecedented sweep of SIAC track and field titles.

The championship performance demonstrated the program's excellence across multiple events, with contributions coming from all phases of competition.

The Maroon Tigers' ability to score consistently in sprints, distance events, field events, and relays proved to be the difference-maker in pulling away from the rest of the conference field.

This outdoor track and field triumph adds another chapter to what has been an extraordinary season for Morehouse athletics. The "Triple Crown" designation signifies the program's dominance throughout the entire track and field calendar, a feat that stands as a testament to the coaching staff's preparation and the athletes' dedication.

The victory in Columbia represents more than just a conference championship—it's a historic milestone that will be remembered in SIAC annals for years to come. The Maroon Tigers' comprehensive team effort and their ability to excel across all disciplines separated them from their conference rivals and established a new standard of excellence.

As the Morehouse track and field program celebrates this momentous achievement, the 176-point performance stands as evidence of the depth and talent that has made this season truly special for the Atlanta-based institution. The Maroon Tigers have not only won a championship but have made history in the process, completing a rare sweep that showcases the strength of HBCU athletics and the exceptional level of competition within the SIAC.
