Transportation Secretary Reports Progress on Francis Scott Key Bridge Rebuild

Secretary Sean Duffy has announced a status update on the funding for a bridge rebuild in Maryland. The Francis Scott Key Bridge is in the midst of being rebuilt after being struck by a cargo ship and collapsing in 2024. After construction costs for the project rose from $1.8 billion to more than $5 billion, Secretary Duffy sent a letter to Maryland Governor Wes Moore expressing concerns over the rising budget and lengthening timelines surrounding the bridge rebuild.
