Benedict College senior Zack Washington continued to cement his legacy as one of the premier track and field athletes in HBCU athletics, earning his third All-American award on Thursday at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Men's and Women's Track & Field Championship.

Competing at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas, Washington delivered an outstanding performance that secured him a fifth-place finish at the national championship meet, adding another prestigious honor to his already impressive collegiate career.

Key Takeaway: Zack Washington's third All-American award places him among the elite track and field athletes in Benedict College history and reinforces the Tigers' reputation as a powerhouse in HBCU athletics.

The accomplishment marks a significant milestone not only for Washington personally but also for the Benedict College Tigers track and field program.

Earning All-American status three times during a collegiate career demonstrates exceptional consistency and excellence at the highest level of Division II competition.

Washington's fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championship showcased the talent and dedication that has made him a standout performer throughout his time representing Benedict College. The senior athlete competed against the best Division II track and field competitors from across the nation, proving that HBCU programs continue to produce world-class athletic talent.

The NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championship represents the pinnacle of competition for student-athletes at this level, bringing together the top performers who have qualified through regional meets throughout the season. As Washington concludes what has been a remarkable senior season, his three All-American awards stand as a testament to his hard work, determination, and athletic prowess. His achievements continue to shine a spotlight on Benedict College's commitment to excellence both in the classroom and on the track, further elevating the profile of HBCU athletics on the national stage.
