hmmm....this is a tough subject. I believe that the subject at hand is still a terrible effect from the psycho trauma of slavery. White women with black men hurts the black woman because for hundreds of years she has been the most down trodden and disrespected in the history of slavery. Raped and also used for breeding, it would seem that she is nothing more than a chattel to physical pleasures. So to uphold the white woman as a prize is a disgrace and insult to the beauty of the black woman. Yet it goes both ways. To see a black woman with a white man is the most hurtful thing to the black man, because in all ways has his manhood been taken from him. Through the breaking of his family to the raping of his women, the black man has been made to feel utterly helpless. These sentiments can still be felt today when jealousy rears its head at seeing people of the opposite s*x with these opposite races. I feel it like this...before we make the move to be with people of the opposite race (although love is truly colorblind) let us attend to our own a rebuild the black relationship. Perhaps then it will not be such an issue when we venture on to different avenues.

Common now, I used to hate it though.
I remember a saying an older white guy told my cuz Rod my Minister back home.
He told him, "when we get yall women we get yall Doctors and Lawyers, when Yall get our women, we all done been through her.
I rememeber years ago this guy I did not really know in HighSchool. I saw him years later.
He went out of my way to shout Yooooooooooo! At the Walmart, he wanted me to see the heavy set white girl he was with.
My problem is that I had never seen a black person act whiter than the most white folk and a sister that did not act more whiter than white folk. The white person the same way, felt funny hearing ethnic white folk imitating black people instead of being themselves, unless they were being themselves?
Just keeping it real.
hey if its true love cool. My thing is be who you are.
I just can't get away from dat sistah for some reason, Lol!

I agree with William. If you can do that and be yourself then cool. If it causes you to lose your culture then that's a pretty tough price tag. I have interracial couple friends who remain themselves. So I know it can be done. That's loving someone for whom they are.

I honestly think to have a type or a predestined image of your future soulmate is a dangerous thing! Of course, there is nothing that I appreciate more than an intelligent and engaging black man however, to fetter yourself to an ideal is absurd and outdated. To date outside of your race is not an easy decision to make and requires true courage (in my opinion!). I think couples that have that pure true love should be looked at just as other couples of the same ethnicity are looked at. There are stigmas associated with the topic of course, ie: golddiggers, athletes, and many prominent people of our community have chosen to marry someone of another race. What about that? But when two people come together because there is just no avoiding it... who are we to judge?

I am not offended when black men date white women, because some of my sistas have strayed to dating white men...now some may not agree with what I'm about to say, but I'ma go ahead and tell my boy Cam's story

Eversince he was a little boy no one I mean no one told him that his dark skin and african features were beautiful, but white woman adored him...he told me that I was the only sista who never said, "you're too dark."WHAT THE HELL IS TOO DARK...BLACK women won't even give BLACK men love...most females won't even glance at a brotha if he isn't rockin' the hottest fashion or pushin' and expensive whip...some women feel too hi to speak to a brotha because he doesn't speak correct english...my thing is if we dont try to help them than we cant get mad when a white woman snatched him up...

to add on...not saying that we should carry their asses on our backs lol, but if we see that we can improve and show a little love we should...that does not mean put up with ignorance...peace

MODEL at MYSELF
AS A WOMAN OF BOTH RACES I FEEL THAT I WILL GIVE MY POINT OF VIEW ON THIS. FROM EXPERIENCE IT HURTS TO KNOW THAT A BLACK MAN WOULD CHOOSE A WHITE WOMAN OVER HIS BLACK QUEEN BUT WE HAVE FAILED TO REALIZE IS THAT WE WORK AGAINST OUR BLACK MEN, WE LAUGH AT THEIR STRUGGLE AND RARELY ACKNOWLEDGE THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS. SLAVERY IS OVER PREJUDICE IS WHAT WE STILL FACE IN TODAYS WORLD. SO MANY AFRICAN AMERICAN SISTERS ARE SETTLING THEY ARE COMPROMISING FOR WHATEVER LIFE GIVES THEM AND THOSE THAT ARENT HAVE THE REST OF US AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN BRINGING THEM DOWN. OUR ANCESTORS DID NOT COME THIS FAR FOR OUR MEN TO BE KIILING EACH OTHER OUR DAUGHTERS TO BE PREGNANT AT 13 14 15 AND OUR MOTHERS TO BE TWIRLING AROUND POLES FOR THE LACK OUR RESPONSIBILTY THAT BROUGHT AN UNPLANNED PREGNANCY AND NOW SHE MUST PULL BOTH WEIGHTS OF EACH PARENT BECAUSE OUR BLACK MEN ARE STILL FINDING INSECURITIES IN A WHITE MANS WORLD AND NOT STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE. WHITE WOMAN ARE BROUGHT UP WITH FULL FAMILIES AND LEARNING TO TURN THE OTHER CHEEK, THEY DONT GET DISCOURAGED ABOUT THINGS THAT WILL FADE. AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN ARE BROUGHT UP LEARNING TO PROVIDE FOR THEMSELVES AND LEARN HOW TO GO OUT AND GET IT ON THEIR OWN BUT IF WE DO NOT HAVE THAT EXAMPLE AT HOME OUR MINDS WILL STRAY AND WE WILL FIND IDOLIZATION IN THE WRONG VENUE OF THE WORLD. MOST OF US BECOME DEPENDANT ON THE STATE ASSISTANCE PROVIDED TO US AFTER GIVING BIRTH AT A YOUNG AGE IN OUR LIFE. MY BROTHERS DATE WHITE WOMAN AND I ALWAYS WONDERED WHY SO WHEN I ASKED THEM THEY SAID BECAUSE BLACK WOMEN WANT THINGS THAT ARE NOT OF NEED....HAIR AND NAILS, CLOTHES AND SHOES, THOSE ARE NOT FOUNDATIONS OF STABILITY WHEREAS WHITE WOMEN PERFER TO GO TO SCHOOL AND GET JOBS WITH THE STANDARDS OF TRUE GODDESSES. I AM TIRED OF MY AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN MAKING EXCUSES TO WHY THEY ARE NOT SUCCEEDING IN LIFE. AND BEING JEALOUS OR ENVIOUS OF ANOTHER CULTURE AND THEY WAY THE LIVE THEIR LIVES. I MYSELF HAVE DATED WHITES BLACKS MEXICANS ASIANS AND MORE. EACH RACE HAS ITS TYPE OF CULTURE OR CLASS ITS WHEN WE STOP LOOKING ON THE OUTSIDE TO DETERMINE WHO GETS TO BE ON THE INSIDE. WHITE WOMAN ARE MORE LIKELY TO GRADUATE TOP OF THEIR CLASSES IN A LOT OF DIFFERENT MAJOR DEGREES BECAUSE THEY KEEP UP WITH THEIR BOOKS AND STUDIES NOT THE LATEST DANCE OR CLOTHING LINE. WHAT WE NEED TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN IS THAT WHAT WE CAN NOT HOLD ON TO FOREVER WILL ALSO NOT LAST FOREVER. WE LET OUR MINDS GET WRAPPED UP IN THIS WORLD WHERE MUSIC IMAGE AND MONEY RUN OUR WORLD THE WRONG WAYS AND ITS FUNNY TO ME THAT ALL MY BLACK FRIENDS WANT FELLAS THAT WILL BUY THEM THE WORLD BUT COULDNT PROVIDE A THING FOR THEMSELVES. I WILL NO BE IN THE STANDARD I WILL RISE ABOVE...I WONT COMPLAIN ABOUT WHO MY BROTHER IS DATING AND HER RACE, BECAUSE THAT IS ALL TO LITTLE TO WORRY ABOUT. A WOMAN IS SOMEONE WHO PUTS ON HER SHOES EACH MORNING AND INSTEAD OF WALKING THROUGH LIFE TAKING HANDOUTS SHE'S RUNNING TO OPEN DOORS LOOKING FOR NEWER FOUNDATIONS TO BUILD SOLID CONCRETE TO GROW FLOWERS THAT WILL BLOOM FOR HER CHILDREN AND THIERS. AND MAYBE JUST MAYBE IF OUR COMMUNITIES DID MORE PUSHING PPL BACK INTO CHURCH AND NOT PUSHING THEM AWAY FROM THE CHURCH THIS WORLD WOULD STILL NOT BE IN A PREJUDICE STATE OF IGNORANCE. WE ARE ALL GIVEN THE TOOLS ONCE UPON A TIME IN OUR LIVES ITS NOT WHO GIVES THEM TO YOU ITS WHAT YOU DO WITH THEM. BLACK WOMAN WANT RELIABLE STABLE MEN THAN CAN PROVIDE....WELL WHY IS SO HARD FOR US BLACK WOMEN TO MEET THEM HALF WAY? AND FOR THOSE WHO ARE STAY STRONG AND BE HAPPY LIVE IT LOVE IT LEARN FROM IT, BUT DONT DOWN THE NEXT WOMAN FOR BEING ON HER A GAME, BLACK WHITE MEXICAN ASIAN, KIMORA, BEYONCE, FERGIE, AND TILA TEQUILLA ARE WOMAN OF DIFFERENT RACES BUT ALL WITH THE SAME TRAIN OF THOUGHT....SUCCESS
