Launch Your Tech Career with Buildertrend: Explore 3 Engineering Internship Opportunities

Launch Your Tech Career with Buildertrend: Explore 3 Engineering Internship Opportunities
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on September 15, 2026

Students looking to turn their classroom knowledge into real-world technology experience have an opportunity to build their skills this summer with Buildertrend, a leading construction management software company based in Omaha, Nebraska.

Buildertrend is currently recruiting interns for three technology-focused opportunities in data engineering, product security and software engineering. These internships give students the chance to work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful projects and gain hands-on experience with technologies and processes used in a professional software environment.

Rather than spending the summer on the sidelines, interns can contribute to work that supports a technology platform used by construction professionals while developing skills that can help prepare them for careers in today's technology industry.

Data Engineering Intern

For students interested in data, analytics and the systems that help organizations make better decisions, the Data Engineering Internship offers an opportunity to work with Buildertrend's data engineering team.

Interns will gain experience working with datasets and data pipelines while learning how information from systems such as Salesforce and SQL Server can be transformed into reliable datasets supporting business intelligence, analytics and AI initiatives.

This opportunity may be especially appealing to students studying computer science, data science, information systems, software engineering or related disciplines.

Product Security Intern

Students interested in cybersecurity, application security and cloud security can gain practical experience through Buildertrend's Product Security Internship.

Interns will work alongside security engineers and learn how security is incorporated into the software development lifecycle.

The experience provides exposure to the tools and workflows used by Buildertrend's Product Security team while giving interns an opportunity to contribute to efforts that help protect the company's platform and its customers.

For students considering careers in cybersecurity or secure software development, this internship provides a chance to see how security principles are applied in a real production environment.

Software Engineering Intern

Buildertrend's Software Engineering Internship gives aspiring developers an opportunity to move beyond classroom assignments and contribute to real software features.

Interns work alongside experienced engineers, participate in meaningful projects and gain exposure to how software progresses from an idea through development and ultimately into production. It's an opportunity to strengthen technical skills while gaining practical experience working as part of a professional engineering team.

Students pursuing computer science, software engineering or related technology programs are encouraged to explore the opportunity.

Build Experience That Goes Beyond the Classroom

All three internships are based in Omaha, Nebraska, and Buildertrend currently lists the positions at $28 per hour.

Buildertrend's internship program is designed to give emerging technology professionals meaningful experience while connecting them with experienced team members and opportunities to develop their careers.

If you're looking for an internship where you can strengthen your technical skills, contribute to real projects and gain experience in a professional technology environment, explore the opportunities above and apply for the position that best matches your interests.
