Behind the Song | How Gospel Artists Can Share the Testimony Behind Their Music
|
Posted By: Ray Oster on October 11, 2026 🎙️ What if the most powerful part of a Gospel song is the story nobody has heard yet? A song may sound beautiful, but what happened before the song was written can give its message an entirely different meaning. That is why we recently published: “Behind the Song: How Gospel Artists Can Share the Testimony Behind Their Music” At Devine Jamz Gospel Network, we believe Gospel music is more than a recording. Often, there is a season of prayer, struggle, loss, breakthrough, spiritual growth, or divine revelation behind the lyrics. So, instead of asking an artist only, “Tell us about your new release,” what if we asked: 👉🏾 What season of life were you walking through when this song began? 👉🏾 What lyric carries the deepest personal meaning for you? 👉🏾 What do you hope someone going through a similar struggle receives from this music? Those questions can transform a routine music interview into a conversation that connects the artist, the testimony, the song, and the listener. And there is another opportunity: one meaningful interview can become multiple pieces of content, including testimony clips, inspirational messages, musical moments, short-form videos, and additional promotional content. Most importantly, the goal is not to manufacture drama. The goal is to tell the story honestly. For Gospel artists, your testimony may be the bridge that helps someone understand why the song matters.
