Schoolhouse to Jailhouse

Schoolhouse to Jailhouse
Posted By: Corry Stevenson on July 20, 2006

We must stop the warehousing of our youth in jail housing and prison that legally closing the doors to the top.

In order to ridden our community of crime and gangs, we must work to understand the problems. Thus the problems will not be solved merely by the increasing roadblocks that support deep frustrations and chronic racism behavior by our law enforcement. Research reveals that roadblocks tend to be utilized more in majority blacks and low wealth communities. These roadblocks are use to target young poor African American males.

Everyone should have the right to walk or drive the streets in safety, feel secure in their own home and be able to go out without worrying about being robbed, beaten, raped or killed.

Too many of us, however, have as much fear of the police and other law enforcement agents as we do of the bandits and law-breakers. Our Police departments and local law enforcement offices is urge to raise funds by, routinely threaten, harass and brutalize the very citizens they are supposed to protect by using illegal means to get funding.

To ridden our communities of crime and gangs, it will require major reorganization and reeducation of our community. We must work to finding solutions to the root causes of crime. We must have discussing of ways to have both safe communities and police who respect us. We must proposal solutions of everything from police brutality, an alternatives to incarceration, public spending to support a well financed law enforcement and crime –free neighborhoods.

We spend all this money on the symptoms and not the cures in the 1st place that would save a lot less money and lives.
To see what these kids deal with, I say place anything in the wrong territory and they adapt and do what they have bto do to survive.
But we still have choice and I have been there done that.
But I was most Blessed to not have to do extensive jail time but I did count those foster homes, house to house, street to streets and the military as jail time for me...
