The NATIONAL BLACK PROGRAMMING CONSORTIUM
|
Posted By: Jehan Bunch on July 25, 2006 The NATIONAL BLACK PROGRAMMING CONSORTIUM (NBPC), in partnership with Blackside, Inc., is offering 15-$5000 grants to professors of Historically Black Colleges and Universities to create socially conscious media projects with their students! The project, "The Eyes on the Prize Black College New Media Project," is part of a national outreach campaign designed to coinside with the rebroadcast of the landmark six-hour documentary series, "Eyes on the Prize" to air in October. This initiative is designed to extend learning opportunities to HBCUs by using media, like podcasting, audio programs and short video projects to work with students to create original media-based works that address contemporary issues of civil rights, American history and local and national leadership. Professors from all different departments who teach at an HBCU are eligible to apply. The deadline for applications is September 30, 2006. To receive an application, or for more information, please contact: hbcueop2006@nbpc.tv If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
