True Love

Posted By: Brittany Bush on July 25, 2006

Love is the funniest and hardest things in the world. My older sister had a baby boy and even though I haven't even met the kid yet...I love him. I love my family, my friends and myself.

But that's not the love thats been on my mind lately. There is a big difference between being unsure and being scared. When it comes to love I'm never unsure just scared out of my mind. Now that I think about almost four years of time, I realize just how scared I am. My parents never had a good marriage but at the time they got married they both knew it was "true love" and they went through a horrible divorce that they also subjected my brother and I too. And I'm sure my grandparents felt the same way, but somewhere along the line something happened and though they are still together it's more out of tradition than love.
So it's not hard to tell what kind of opinion of marriage i had growing up. Almost everyone in my family had marriage problems and almost everyone got divorced and remarried or not. So maybe I grew up with a little bit of fear inside me that I would never actually have someone.

And I when I got older and started to date commitment wasn't an option for me, it was something that I would only resort to if I had no other choice and even then I would fight till the end.
When I was in 9th grade I didn't even have feelings for 99.9% of the guys I dated. But that .1% represents one person, the one guy that I didn't even want to date at first. The one guy that I argued with the most, and the one guy that made me feel my first real relationship pains. His name was Glynn and to this day I think about him everyday. I never actually told him that even after he moved that year I had continued to wonder about him every once in awhile. No matter how much I tried to forget him. And when came back in my life I did everything to get him back out, but now I'm not so sure what I want anymore.
I really don't wanna tell a long story I was jus wondering, if anyone else has just had this strong feeling that someone was right for them. That this is the person you can't let go of no matter how much you try. That this is the person you would fight for. That this is the person you love, and will never truly be able to shake. And I was wondering if anyone else made the same mistake as me and lost that person because of their own fear and pride.
