West (301) 860-4307 kwest@bowiestate.edu Bowie State University Celebrates 2006 Homecoming Friends & Family Fun Day to Take Place at Bowie Baysox Stadium Bowie, Maryland (www.bowiestate.edu) – Bowie State University (BSU) is gearing up for an exciting celebration of fun-filled activities during the 2006 Homecoming season. The four-day celebration will take place October 11th through October 14th when the Bowie State Bulldogs take on the Elizabeth City State University Vikings at Bulldog Stadium. The pre-homecoming events will kick-off on October 11th with a Yard Fest, charity basketball game sponsored by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and a book signing and art exhibition by alumni authors and artists. On October 12th, the BSU community and guests will witness the official crowning of Mr. and Miss Bowie State University during Coronation followed by an Inaugural Ball. On Friday, October 13th, the day begins with the annual Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Bowie Golf & Country Club. New this year, Bowie State will host Friends & Family Fun Day on October 14th, which will begin with a Homecoming Day Parade in Seat Pleasant, Maryland. The parade route will begin at Martin Luther King, Jr. Highway and Sheriff Road and end at FedEx Field. Kick-off time for the game is at 2:00 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium followed by post-game events for the entire family at Bowie Baysox Stadium. Post-game events will include a carnival with face painting and children’s games, fireworks display, step show, and a live concert featuring hip-hop artists Ludacris, Ne-Yo, and Remy Ma. Roundtrip transportation will be provided from BSU’s Henry Circle to Baysox Stadium every half hour from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Tickets will go on sale October 3rd and can be purchased at the new BSU Ticketmaster Box Office located on the lower level of Robinson Hall, Room 001. Coronation of Mr. & Miss Bowie State University – 7:00pm – 9:00pm Mr. & Miss Bowie State University will be officially crowned as the King and Queen of the University.
