YBE Magazine Talks One-on-One with Scholarship Queen, Shayla Price

YBE Magazine Talks One-on-One with Scholarship Queen, Shayla Price
Posted By: Eric Foster on October 12, 2006

Finding money for college is one of the biggest challenges and a determining factor for students hoping to continue their education. Often, those who do go to college, even if they do receive some scholarship money, must resort to loans to pay for the rising costs of tuition. Others work full or part-time jobs in order to cover costs, sacrificing social lives, or worse, their studies.

One person, however, shows that it is possible to pay for college without the numerous sacrifices. Scholarship queen, Shayla Price speaks with YBE Magazine to share some of her secrets on fully funding her college education – without the need for loans. She offers advice for students on when to begin their search and the best places to look and provides strategies for students to maximize their opportunities for funding. “Start early; look for as many scholarships as possible [and] pay close attention to eligibility and directions. [Most importantly] never give up!” suggests Price.

“The information Shayla provides is useful both for students currently enrolled and those who wish to pursue college and need methods to pay for their education. This is also useful for parents of freshmen high school students to help them prepare for the future,” says Eric Foster, Chief Editor of YBE. “With tuition rates skyrocketing, many young people may immediately dismiss the idea of going to college, simply because they feel they can’t afford it. Shayla shows that with a little determination and planning, anyone can afford to continue education.”
