New Book About ALPHA PHI ALPHA!!

Posted By: Darrius Gourdine on October 20, 2006 Wassup Brothers, Sorors, and Sweethearts!! This is Darrius and I pledged at Beta chapter, spring 1990. 06 to all my Bros and Happy 100th! I am also the author of the new novel called JEWELS, THE STORY OF THE FOUNDING OF ALPHA PHI ALPHA. This book is a novel about the founding of our frat and it opens with a young Henry Callis in high school. He goes to Cornell and meets all the other guys. They start to meet with C.C. Poindexter, plan, argue, laugh, discuss, etc as they plan to found Alpha Phi Alpha. You will never see the Jewels or the founding of the frat the same after reading this book. Jewel Robert Harold Ogle fell madly in love with a young lady that he met and got married in March 1906. They had a child in December, days after the frat was founded on December 4th. She was 6, 7, 8, 9 months pregnant while the Jewels met, planned the banquet, the first initiation, and the founding yet Jewel Ogle never missed a meeting. Find out more about the Jewels in my book. I speak in first person from all 7 Jewels so you really get to hear their voices. I end the book with a letter from each Jewel to the frat now, congratulating us on making 100 years!
