Stand-up comedian, actor and writer, the versatile Buddy Lewis is a native son of Gary, Indiana, a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C., he is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Buddy has performed stand-up in comedy clubs, colleges and other venues across the country for over 14 years. He had two appearances on HBO's Def Comedy Jam and four on BET's Comic View. Buddy has opened for superstar acts Path Labelle, Tommy Davidson, Chris Rock and the late Robin Harris. In addition to his work as a stand up, Buddy has labored behind the scenes for many years as a comedy consultant and writer on shows including Def Comedy Jam, BET's Holla, and Oh Drama and late night talk shows Vibe and The Magic Hour. After a six year run at the HaHa Café and a three year hiatus, Buddy and Kym are back to bring comedy fans the opportunity to see the best professional talent from all over the United States come workout the material that will be performed on Leno, Letterman, HBO and Comedy Central.

Buddy's stand up gigs do not represent all of his work on stage. In 2003, Buddy received great reviews and a second prestigious NAACP theater Award for "Best Supporting Actor" as the dimwitted bodyguard "Q" in Debbie Allen's adaptation of the Grimm fairy tale Snow White called Pearl.

This production enjoyed an extended run at the famed Geffen Theater in Los Angeles.

In 2001, Buddy's performance as Uncle Ray in the national tour of David E. Talbert's The Fabric of a Man wowed audiences across the nation and will soon be released on DVD through Urban Works Entertainment. This role earned him his first "Best Supporting Actor" Theater Award from the Beverly Hills/Hollywood Chapter of the NAACP.

Being a versatile talent, Buddy has appeared on the big screen as well. Audiences will remember his debut role as the bartender in Woo, starring Jada Pinkett-Smith and Tommy Davidson. Buddy starred in the film Beverlyhood where he performed two roles, Reverend / Promice and the outrageous Aunt Gert. Buddy appeared with rapper Mac 10's in the film Thicker Than Water and as music mogul Brown Suga Bear in the independently released film Retiring Tatiana. In 2001, he co-starred with the recording group IMX, formerly known as Immature, in USA Network's House Party 4: Down to the Last Minute and was a featured performer in the film The Brothers. This year Buddy will appear in the DVD film releases of Out on Parole and Love Chronicles.

His television work includes appearances on several television sitcoms including The Parkers; Sabrina the Teenage Witch; Sister, Sister, Yes Dear, The Jamie Foxx Show and Martin. Buddy recently co-starred on an episode of Comedy Central hit show Reno 911 and HBO’s critically acclaimed comedy show The Entourage. His ability to keep people in stitches has also given him the opportunity to perform as an audience warm-up for a number of television shows which includes Nickelodeon's All That, Fox's Mad TV and Cedric The Entertainer Sketch Show, UPN's The Parker's and the WB's The Steve Harvey Show.

In addition to his work as a performer and writer, Buddy is a tireless activist. As the tri-guild (AFTRA, SAG, Writer's Guild) Comedy Caucus Chairperson and as a member of both local and national AFTRA boards, he works to ensure fair working conditions and wages for his fellow performers. Buddy has accomplished many of his goals but is still striving to reach higher levels as a professional entertainer. His quest for stardom continues and the future is very bright.
