HU Homecoming 2006 Activity Reminder

Homecoming 2006 will feature a variety of activities scheduled today - Sunday, Oct. 29. The Hampton Pirates are enthusiastic and hope to enhance their winning record at the homecoming football game against Winston-Salem State University on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 2:00 p.m. The Pirates won last year's homecoming game with a 14-10 victory over South Carolina State University. The newly crowned Miss Hampton University, RaSheeda Waddell, will be formally introduced at Saturday's game. The homecoming events are as scheduled: Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 COMEDY SHOW: Mo'Nique - 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Located in Ogden Hall. Mo'Nique is an award-winning comedienne whose bold and sarcastic stand-up routine has landed her starring roles in such films as "Soul Plane," "Baby Boy," and "Two Can Play that Game" as well as UPN's "The Parkers." She has been featured on HBO's "Def Comedy Jam" and "Snaps," BET's "Comic Relief," and in the hit stand-up comedy film "The Queens of Comedy." Admission is $10 in advance. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 FASHION SHOW - 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Located in the HU Convocation Center. Admission is $10 in advance. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006 GREEK STEP SHOW - 8 p.m. - 10 p.m. Located in Ogden Hall. Admission is $15 for the first 1,000 tickets, $20 general admission. Friday, Oct. 27, 2006 BAZAAR - 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Located outside of the HU Student Center. Admission is free. HOMECOMING CONCERT: T.I., the King of the South - 6 p.m. Located in the HU Convocation Center. Hailing from Atlanta, Atlantic Records T.I., recently released his fourth album, "King." His previous album "Urban Legend," debuted at the top of Billboard's "Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums" and earned numerous awards including the 2005 American Music Awards' Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album, the 2005 Teen Choice Awards' Choice Rap Track ("Bring Em Out") and a Grammy nomination for the song "U Don't Know Me." Tickets are only available online at www.ticketmaster.com and at the door; $30 general admission, $38 floor seating. ALUMNI HOSPITALITY - 6:30 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. Located at Strawberry Banks. A $10 donation is requested, and food and beverages will be provided. "Vegas Nights" ALUMNI HOMECOMING PARTY - 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. Located in the Student Center Ballroom. Hosted by Hampton University Office of Alumni Affairs and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006 HOMECOMING PARADE - 10 a.m., Armistead Ave. and Settlers Landing Road. The Original Tuskegee Airmen will serve as Parade Marshals. MAJOR DONOR RECEPTION - 12 p.m. ;Located in the HU Student Center Ballroom. The event is by invitation only. HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME - 2 p.m., Located at Armstrong Stadium, Hampton University vs. Winston-Salem State University. "Dance the Night Away" ALUMNI HOMECOMING DANCE - 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. Located in the HU Student Center Ballroom, hosted by the Hampton Chapter of the National HU Alumni Association. A $15 donation is requested. BYOB with snacks available. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006 WORSHIP SERVICE - 11 a.m. Located in the Memorial Church, Dr. Haywood A. Robinson, III, will serve as speaker. HU GOSPEL CONCERT - 3 p.m. Located in the Memorial Church.
