"We feel very fortunate to have secured Mr. Lee as the baseball coach at Coppin State," Wanza said. "He brings a unique skill set to the position with his background in baseball and the corporate world." Lee comes to Coppin State after spending three years in the minor leagues of the Yankees farm system and operating his Hit after Hit, Inc., marketing company for the past 11 years. "I believe the most important quality I possess is my positive attitude," said Lee. "I am also known for my leadership and persistence, which I believe will be valuable assets in my position as baseball coach at Coppin State." Lee was an outstanding player at Southern (La.) where he finished his career in 1984 as the school career, and single season, home run record holder. He earned All-Southwestern Athletic Conference honors three times and ranked 14th nationally in runs batted in 1983. He spent the next three years playing in the Yankee farm system and was also a replacement player for the Montreal Expos during spring training in 1995. He also has coached at various high schools in Florida and also worked with the Bucky Dent Baseball School and the Manny Sanguillen Travel Baseball School. Very active in his local community, Lee has worked for the Boys & Girls Club and several non-profit organizations. "My first and foremost goal is to build a quality baseball program at Coppin State, which would involve not only the players, but the student body, faculty and community, as well," Lee added.
