SHOULD AGE MATTER FOR DATING...

Posted By: Laura Williams on November 19, 2006

HEY YOU GUYS,
I HAVE ONE QUESTION I WAS THINKING ABOUT. WHEN IT COMES TO DATING, SHOULD AGE REALLY MATTER AS LONG AS THE MAN OR WOMAN IS OF AGE. OF AGE MEANING 18 OR 21. FOR INSTANCE, I HAVE A COUSIN WHO IS 20 DATING A 32. I TOLD HER IS HE LOOKING FOR ONE THING AND THAT HE IS ALREADY SETTLE DOWN TO MARRIAGE. GIVE ME, PLEASE, YOUR ADVICE.

I don't think age is a factor. Love is love, and it sees no color, age, or other forms of boundaries. If it is true, then that is all that matters...just my opinion however...

Some say that your cousin’s man is looking for one thing: dat young ass because she’s firm, new and impressionable. Some say all he would want is that S-E-X. Some say your cousin may be looking for a sugar daddy or a father figure. But these ideas are not always true.

IMO Age is relative and does not necessarily play a role. Whether it is a “May-December” couple or couples in general, the maturity levels, intentions and expectations of the individuals involved are the vital factors.

Basically, I co-sign with Nicholas’ comment above about love.

Yes, age should matter, but it all depends on the person that you're talking to, and how mature/immature or relaxed they are in their life. You need to sit down with that person and ask them what they want out of that relationship. Age really doesn't matter, but when you're usually talking to an older person...they are probably going to be looking for a long term relationship. Even when everything is said and done, communication will be the factor in any relationship, no matter the age, race, or any other type of background difference. If this helped you out, let me know! Peace!!!

My experience is that at 20 she's still changing ALOT. He is (should be) a lot more settled. I don't think that's usurally a good combination. Either she grows to his specs instead of being allowed to mature freely or she grows to realize he may be mature to a 20 year old, but not nearly where he should be for a 30 something year old. At any rate, she is 20. She will make the decision and she will deal with the consequences. Advise her, support her, but don't push her away by playing the momma role.

Opinions, Opinions, when we ask for them we are setting ourselves up to be control by the morals of others. We are spiritual beings living in a body called a temple, therefore let one live from within as opposed to from without. The spirit within will remain with us for life and those outside for a short period. The final and only answer comes from you. Temporary happiness comes from without, permanent happiness comes from within. Do what you must for you not for me for I am just a supporter.
Peace, love, knowledge and understanding.
