Posted By: Brann Poe on April 28, 2005 okaii...so i finally get accepted to mah dream skool and now everybody and their moma iz trynna tell me otherwise. tell me that i need to stay in california. that HOWARD is in the ghetto of D.C and how i'll be there all by my lonesome with no support or help with me and that eventually i will end up back in cali! omg, what tha heck?!? i've been a success most of my life, but when it's time for me to leave tha nest, no one can handle it! i don't understand! why is tha intend-to-enroll form due in like 2 dayz and my parents are still debating on whether imma go to HOWARD! noooooooooooooooooo! this can't be happening! okaii, so yeah, i live in so cal? big deal?!? HOWARD is just another place with people, just like any other place, so what's tha big deal? as long as i have tha LORD on my side everything will be alright [this i know] sooooo, what's tha purpose of this blog? i dunno lolz..i just needed to get a few things off mah chest! i am sooooo stressed out right now it's not even phunknee! what do you guys know about HOWARD? you all seem to be kewl people so i don't understand what the big deal is? why do the black skoolz have to be "ghetto" or not right when we finally succeed? i just don't understand?!? okaii, well i just wanted to know what you all tought. what do you think of HOWARD? have you visited the campus? what do you know? etc... lettah sistah know pahleeze! :o) [sorry for tha slang, but i'm use to chatin' on-line using this type of language, not on assignments though, oooohh no no!] ;o) -b.2.da.p If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |

tell your parents you'll be fine... they probli hear a lot of bad stuff about dc in the news...but im from around dc, i kno pple that go to howard. its not really that bad.

dc is a nice place....im from alabama and ill be going to howard as a freshman this summer....i flew up to visit on 4/22 and it was off da chain. my parents did not want me to go either but when they got there they liked dc and could not wait for me to get there so they could come visit.....howard is a great school with so many opportunities and a diverse and active student body....everyone is always doing something at HU. Thats why I love it so much..........go for your dreams and dont let them stop you
