2007 Mr. Collegiate African American Pageant/National Leadership Summit on Black Male

2007 Mr. Collegiate African American Pageant/National Leadership Summit on Black Male
Posted By: Frederick Roberts on December 19, 2006

The Mr. Collegiate African American Scholarship Pageant has been providing positive imagery and scholarships for Black college men since 1991. The pageant empowers Black men and counteracts the negative imagery as perpetuated in the society.

"We believe that more Black men are succeeding than what we hear and to focus on them is better for our community," said Frederick V. Roberts, pageant founder and president.

Applications are now being accepted for candidates for the 2007 pageant set for April 4-7 in Houston, with the finals on April 7. The 14th year pageant is open to Black men, 18-28 years of age who are enrolled in American colleges and universities.

Candidates compete for more than $10,000 in scholarships and prizes and the chance to represent the program throughout the service.
