WAT DEFINES US???

WAT DEFINES US???
Posted By: Tae Jackson on February 16, 2007

I post this question for all enquiring minds because it's a subject I feel that needs to be brought to life. In this day and age where rap videos are where we find all our new fads and trends, what sets us different from the rest? I find it hard and unbearable to believe that we put more emphasis on being "fly", "iced up", on "pimp status", and "real" then we do on uplifting one another, takin' care of the household before all else, and most importantly... LOVING GOD!!! Since when did he become of the least importance in comparison to everything else we so enjoy? I'm ready to spark a revolution, wat bout u?

Seems like a lot of us are in agreement for changing that tho, talking about national level leaders as well as regional and neighborhood leaders. More people are speaking up. I'm excited about that. Sounds like you are saying nothing is wrong with those things (popularity, nice things), but keep it in perspective?

I think your underestimating family value in black America. I don't think it's right that were classifying us into one big category because we are individuals, and I think we should do define ourselves as such. I think the question needs to be a lot more specific.

I see the same thing, but I think that it is part of God's divine justice. Those who reject Him receive the consequences of their actions, both here and in eternal life. As a nation, we need to restore our individual priorities.

Our world is full of people who are focused on materialism, and that materialism is rewarded with a life which is always lacking. Those who are focused only on feeling better about themselves will never achieve it.
