Posted By: Ansley Merriweather on May 03, 2005 Man, I know that when you are growing up, you learn about drugs and how bad they are. You vow that you will never take any, none at all. Well, I felt that way once but, now things have changed. I started smoking. Not cigarettes and not blacks. I can't even give a good explanation as to why I choose to defile my body in such a harmful way. It gives me this feeling like none other but, afterwards it leaves you thinking and you start to go back to thoe elementary days when you use to think that it was the worst thing in the world to do. I don't even know why I smoke. I'm sure that someone can relate. Today, I decided that it is time for a change. I am quiting!!!! EVERYBODY does things that they know they dont need to do....then we wonder why we do those things but I believe that we do certain things so that we can be a beacon of light for someone in the near future...You get what I'm saying. Like lets say you are a college graduate and you are apart of an outreach program that is for inner city kids...everyone that works for the program is not a minority but you are and you have experienced everything that child has been through....You might be that person to bring that child out of what they are going through and show them that they can be somebody....that is what I believe you might think different but I feel that is why we probably go through stuff...BUT BELIEVE ME...I do things that I know is wrong and IT IS very hard to break from it. I dont know what to tell you but I am not going to put down why I believe we go through things...
