Posted By: Jehan Bunch on March 30, 2007 Emergency Contact because of illness: Press Release 15th Annual Fundraiser Luncheon for Scandrett Disabilities Scholarship Fund for Howard University Disabled Students For IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Arthur Scandrett DATE: March 30, 2007 (202) 575-0419 Terry Samuels (202) 238-2420 WHO: The Scandrett Disabilities Scholarship Fund What: 15th Annual Fundraiser Luncheon for Howard University Disabled Students When: Saturday, March 31, 2007 - Noon to 3 p.m. Where: Blackburn Center, Howard University, 2400 – 6th St. NW, Washington, DC Details: Ever since Arthur Scandrett was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in his last year of college at Howard University, he had to give up his part-time job because of weakness, but he had such pride, he did not want to tell his parents but had to when he finally had to resort to a wheelchair just to carry on with his studies so he could graduate. This is the story of many handicapped students who struggle even before it becomes visible. This is the only scholarship of its kind at Howard University and is a 501 © (3) organization that Scandrett started to provide scholarships to several students whose names are provided by the Howard University Disability Department.
