Below are some of the opportunities: 2007 Sallie Mae Fund American Dream Scholarship -- Deadline: April 15, 2007 (The online application will be available. The Sallie Mae Fund American Dream Scholarship offers scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 to African-American students with financial need enrolled in a two or four year title IV accredited college or university. This scholarship is open to incoming freshmen as well as current undergraduate students.) Click link below to apply: Sallie Mae Fund American Dream Scholarship Memphis McNair Program -- Deadline: May 1, 2007 A sincere interest in obtaining a Ph.D. U. S. citizenship or permanent, legal residence in the U.S. Completion of the undergraduate sophomore year but have not earned a bachelors degree before program participation First-generation college and low-income OR member of an ethnic group underrepresented in graduate education. Click link below to apply: Memphis McNair Program 2007 Chevrolet Excellence in Education Award - Deadline: April 12, 2007 Chevrolet is now accepting applications for the 2007 Cheverolet Excellence in Education. Application deadline is on April 12, 2007. Cheverolet is offering some outstanding students $1,000 scholarships towards their first year of college expenses. The Washington, DC TRIO Internship Program provides a $3,500 stipend for the eight-week summer internship. This stipend is intended to cover your round-trip transportation to Washington, DC, your housing, and your basic living expenses. The Council will assist you in finding housing (in a college dormitory) and will provide you with a local public transportation allowance when you begin work at the national office.
