Posted By: on June 20, 2007 Central New Mexico Community College, the state’s largest and most comprehensive community college, invites candidates who bring diverse cultural, ethnic and national perspectives to their teaching and work to apply for full- and part-time faculty positions. CNM is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico’s largest city. The college serves more than 27,000 students at five campuses with a $147 million budget. The multi-cultural region has deep roots in Hispanic and Pueblo Indian heritages that are reflected in everyday life. The student body, which is indicative of the district’s ethnic diversity, is 41 percent Hispanic, 38 percent Anglo, seven percent Native American, three percent African American and two percent Asian/Pacific Islander. The population of the Albuquerque metro area is about 750,000. Residents enjoy a mild climate in the Rio Grande Valley at the base of the Sandia Mountains with access to a wide range of recreation.
