Building Partnerships in Our Community - Preside
|
Posted By: Jon C. on August 03, 2007 The President’s Report 7/30/07 Building Partnerships in Our Community As our organization continues to grow and develop, building strong relationships with community organizations and institutions is essential to meeting our stakeholders’ needs. During the next few weeks, we will seek to cultivate our relationships by reaching out to neighborhood organizations, and making the Foundation a well-known and valuable part of our communities. By connecting with people who are active in leading Baltimore City’s renewal, we can locate and manage resources that will maximize our organization’s reach. Together, we can help make The Baltimore Renaissance Foundation the premier source for innovative solutions within our communities. This week, I encourage you to learn more about how to get active in your community. Find your local neighborhood improvement association, and become an active member. Know the leaders of your local schools, businesses, and places of worship. Let your friends and neighbors know about the ambitious plans we’re working on here at the Foundation. And most importantly… do your part! Support organizations that are working to create a better lifestyle for you and yours. With continued commitment, we can all enjoy neighborhoods that are clean, safe, healthy, and prosperous. Good morning and blessings great. My name is R. Lee Gordon, and I’m president of UniTee Design, Inc., an ethnic empowerment enterprise near Detroit and with locations in Brooklyn, NYC, and Miami. UDI's mission is to reestablish black unity and empower our youth. The company is the product of more than two years of due diligence and business planning. We proudly help to financially support Public Art Workz, a wonderful program that teaches creative arts to inner-city youth (visit www.blightbusters.org for more info.). More importantly, our ultimate goal is to develop self-sufficient business models such as manufacturing facilities and retail outlets in urban markets to give purpose to our people, and build pride and power for and within our communities. My website is just about ready for release: http://www.uniteedesign.com/newsite/home.h... Feel free to provide me your feedback so that we can evaluate suggestions and incorporate modifications, then the shopping cart, and be up and running next week! Thanks again so much for all your good work. Always one in unity . . . Monday, August 6th 2007 at 9:44AM |
