"Developing Annual Sustainability"
|
Posted By: Jehan Bunch on August 07, 2007 Fundraising knowledge is the key to supporting the survival of our beloved HBCUs and protecting the investments in HBCU college degrees! That is why we encourage you to attend the White House Initiative on HBCUs National HBCU Week Pre-Conference for the best fundraising training in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, September 9, 2007, from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. The training will be held at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill Hotel at 400 New Jersey Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001. The Fund Raising School of The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University, in collaboration with the non-profit National Organization of College Parents, Inc. (NOCP), will offer its higher level course on "Developing Annual Sustainability" (see attached course description). Indiana University's Center on Philanthropy (http://www.philanthropy.iupui.edu/) is the only school in the WORLD that has a PhD program in fundraising. The cost of this course alone through The Fund Raising School is $760, plus the added costs of travel and lodging. The sponsors are offering this class for only *$99.00, see details below. Included in the reduced cost of the course is a continental breakfast and box lunch. The lunch will be a working session for participants to review and identify the types of additional support/training needed in the area of fundraising for the various institutions and organizations that financially support HBCUs. The goal of the sponsors is to develop a cadre of trained fundraisers who can establish new income generating programs to financially enhance HBCUs institutions, as we continue to add value and growth to HBCUs. If you have not registered for the free annual National HBCU Week Conference, please do so at once! Go to at http://hbcuweek.ed.gov. *To Register: Normally a 2-day course, this course will be collapsed into one-day for registrants in the fields of alumni relations, institutional advancement and development, I encourage you to take advantage of this incredible opportunity. The class is limited to 40 people, so register early! To take advantage of this training opportunity, please send your $99.00 check made payable to NOCP, PO Box 6727, Silver Spring, MD 20916 by Friday, August 20th. We look forward to seeing you at the Pre-Conference fundraising course on Sept. 9th!
