Technology as a Change Agent - President's Repor
|
Posted By: Jon C. on August 15, 2007 8/13/07 Using Technology as a Change Agent II In our President’s Report from June 23, we discussed the benefits of using technology to reach our stakeholders effectively. This is a very exciting time for the Foundation. We’re continuing to develop online tools and resources that will attract talent and support for our mission of transforming Baltimore through youth entrepreneurship. The Baltimore Renaissance Foundation now has an active presence on three of the largest social networking sites for young African Americans. In the last month, we’ve been able to reach and engage college students through our “Leaders for Change” leadership forum at HBCUConnect.com, and we’ve attracted a dedicated following of community activists through our BlackPlanet.com interest groups. Our SPDI program received great reviews after being featured at DoSomething.org, a prominent youth community action site. Please show your support! Visit DoSomething.org, click on Projects, and vote for Baltimore Renaissance! Within the next two weeks, we’ll be unrolling our affinity sites at Myspace.com and Facebook.com, giving the Foundation’s message a broad global reach. We’ll be featuring individual sites for SPDI and Project Counterculture, as well as interest groups for social entrepreneurship, urban community development, and young leaders. Our outreach initiatives are working well, and have generated lots of interest in our programs from students and community leaders alike. Next week’s President’s Report will give you an inside look at our latest initiatives – including the announcement of our newest program, The Eunity Project. Eunity will bring people together in a way that’s never been done before – stay tuned for details! Together, we’ll continue to provide determined leadership to our young people, our community, and our nation. Jonathan Carter President The Baltimore Renaissance Foundation, Inc.
