Job Description: The Princeton-Blairstown Center (PBC) seeks a Program and Curriculum Coordinator with urban savvy and passion for young people. PBC is a private, non-profit corporation closely affiliated with Princeton University. Our model includes year-round partnerships with urban schools and youth servicing agencies, requiring a Program and Curriculum Coordinator with experience in the coordination and implementation of a broad range of experiential education methodologies, including adventure learning, active learning, cooperative learning, service learning, place-based learning, and expeditions (both urban and wilderness travel experiences). The new Program Coordinator will be traveling and working in the neighborhoods and classrooms of Newark, Trenton, and Camden; and also Philadelphia, PA. Starting salary range is low to mid 40's. Princeton University benefits, including vacation days, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and an educational assistance program are provided. The primary responsibilities of the position are to: 1. Support the efforts of the Director of Programs and Curriculum in the development, coordination, implementation, and delivery of character education and leadership development programs for urban youth in the urban centers of New Jersey and Philadelphia. 2. Coordinate the planning, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of programming that occurs in the above-mentioned urban centers, including: a. Assisting in the hiring of staff to implement programs. b. Assisting in the training of staff to ensure safe and quality implementation of programs. c. Supervising staff and evaluating their performance. d. Planning and implementing the program schedule. 3. Assist in the coordination of planning, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of specified programming that occurs at our Blairstown campus. 4. Assist in the professional development of staff and teachers by participating in the design and delivery of orientation and training programs. The position will be located at our administrative office on the Princeton University campus. Frequent travel throughout the region is required, and will be compensated on a per mile basis. Some visits to our Blairstown campus, which is located 70 miles from Princeton, are necessary to connect our community-based programming with that of our Blairstown campus. Job Qualifications/Requirements: Essential Qualifications - Substantial professional experience working with urban youth and youth programs in urban centers (i.e. schools and youth servicing organizations). - Background in public and/or experiential education, especially in programs focused on social and emotional development. - A minimum of three years working with inner-city youth and living in an inner-city environment. - Knowledge of and experience working with inner-city schools and agencies. The final candidate will be required to successfully pass a background check. A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
