You will first complete Basic Combat Training (BCT), a 9-week course that will strengthen you mentally and physically and help you develop strong leadership capabilities. After you complete BCT, you will learn valuable job skills and hands-on training that will enhance your foundation. The experiences you will gain will take you wherever you want to go in the future. These benefits will be useful as you excel beyond the Army and into the career of your choice. GAIN STRENGTH, LEADERSHIP, AND A STRONG CAREER As a Soldier, you will be strengthened with expert training in one of over 150 careers, anything from a technical engineer to an intelligence analyst. You will develop the discipline and maturity you’ll need to face new challenges and responsibilities. While doing all of this, you’ll also have the opportunity to earn money for college and even earn college credits while you serve. As a Soldier, you’ll have many career opportunities ahead of you. EXCEL INSIDE THE ARMY AND PROFESSIONALLY As a Reserve Soldier, you can have a successful career both in the Army and in your professional life. You’ll have up to 120 careers to choose from; everything from an engineer officer to an information technology specialist. As a Reserve Soldier you’ll gain the strength and experiences that will make you a strong Soldier and an exceptional citizen.
