Posted By: Daniel Moss on September 19, 2007 ABOUT THE SDA The New Jersey Schools Development Authority, or SDA (formerly the Schools Construction Corporation), is the state agency responsible for building 21st century schools throughout the State of New Jersey, literally rebuilding the State’s educational infrastructure from the ground up. The SDA manages the design and construction of school renovation, addition and new construction projects in New Jersey’s 31 neediest communities, known as Abbott school districts. It hires qualified contractors, architects and other professionals to build projects, providing direction and oversight through project completion. The SDA is involved in all phases of the project—from acquiring land for the school to procuring furniture and equipment for the completed project. The SDA has opened more than 40 new schools throughout the State including pre-K centers, elementary, middle and high schools, which are helping to reduce overcrowding and providing necessary early childhood classrooms. It has successfully completed nearly 30 major addition and renovation projects including new classroom wings, auditoriums or gymnasiums. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES The SDA has a broad array of career opportunities for individuals with interests in areas such as: • Project Management • Budgeting and Finance • Legal Affairs • Real Estate • Program and Project Planning • Contract Administration and Procurement CONTACT US NEW JERSEY SCHOOLS DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY 1 West State Street PO Box 991 Trenton, NJ 08625 609-943-5955 resumes@njsda.gov www.njsda.gov If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
