Master P. mister Percy Miller handled his buisness at the Black cacus hearing on Hip hop so well that Johnny Chocran would have been proud of him when he speaks gems of knowledge are given he articulates a buisness language that doesn't waist words with flattery and ego.We have to many people that talk and don't say anything.

So often we are looking for celebs and artists to be the voice of the youth generation. Although the people being offered as speakers are great! Why not post a "call for speakers" reaching out to young people who are speakers and graduated from HBCU's or went to a majority school but still have a story to tell. People with name recongnition often do pull crowds. However, young poeple want to see people like them making it. That will serve as inspiration that they can do it too. Sometimes the reality of many celebrities is often the dreams of our youth. Why not combine the voices of hometoen heroes and highly known movers and shakers in the Black community! When you do, I would love to be included. I have a story to tell...

I think Spike Lee would make a good speaker. He has come up through the ranks and has struggled to get his film company going and be successful. He has a lot to say, and he knows alot about what it takes to make it as an African American in business.

I agree with the brother that suggested that you bring in someone that is possibly less notable (and more affordable) to the campus that can relate to the youth. I myself am a motivational speaker that has done something that neither Cornell West, Common or Spike Lee has done. By the grace of God, I am now pursuing a doctorate degree after serving 6 years in prison for selling drugs and robbery. This is not to boast because those brothers have done some remarkable things as well and I have the utmost respect and admiration for all of them. But I know what the youth are thinking and feeling because growing up with a crack addicted mother, absentee father, becoming a teen father myself, hustling at an early age to "make ends meet at home," I know the temptation of the streets. Yet, I know the reward that comes with hard work and an education. Check me out at http://talented10.com. Unlike many speakers of today, I don't do it for the money, I do it because our youth need to know that there is a better way and that even if you make mistakes along the way, all is not lost. But regardless of who you bring in, make sure that it is a person that can relate to most of the people in the audience. All too often we listen to speakers that have "made it" and talk about what life is like at the top but often fail to teach those the come behind them how to make it.
