Ever since I left home to attend college it seems like everything went down hill. My grandmother calling me getting upset because cause i'm free and no longer in her bondage of staying in the house and being depressed and my boyfriend he just don't know what to do with us. I have school to focus on, so I need your advice. what should I say to my granny everytime she calls and wants to stress me out either it be about me not answering my phone or going home on the weekends? And what should I do about my relationship? Somebody anybody please help me!!!!!!!11

One of the things about going to college is that you're creating a new life for yourself. You won't be able to take your old life with you, for the most part. That can be stressful, but it's part of what everyone goes through.

If you had a relationship and now it is long distance, you need to decide how important it is, and if it can survive your being away at school. If so, that's great, just make sure that you're not sacrificing the opportunity to have new experiences and meet new people.

Being away from home is probably hard enough, so I know you don't need the extra stress. Your grandma seems like she don't want to except the fact that your're grown and you have a new beginning. Although she is your grandmother so you have to respect her. Try talking to her about it, maybe she'll understand. As far as the relationship goes...If it's strong enough it can last. If ya'll were close and in love before you left home, don't let it go without trying. I've been in college for almost 3yrs and I've been in a faithful relationship with my boyfriend back home. People are going to tell you that it can't work, but it's up to ya'll to make it work, because long distance relationships can get hard. It's possible. No one can really tell you what to do on that, you have to follow your OWN heart. Just try not to let these minor problems interfere with your school.

I say 4 my 2cents worth to keep on striving forward sis because the more against, the greater the blessing on the otherside or you would not be getting stressed.
I'm proud of you, keep up the great work.
Sincerely

Understand your Grandmother and boyfriend have not had the college experience you are now having. Think of yourself before you attended college. College includes growing in maturity as well as in intellect. Be patient with your Grandmother -- she loves you. The boyfriend issue is tricky. Ultimately, you must focus on why you are there in college, getting great grades, obtaining positive experience so your next step in life will go smoother. Best wishes!
