My Thoughts

My Thoughts

I'm in my 3rd year of college now and I have met many new experiences and many new/different people. There are many types of people around my campus. No offense, but I've never seen so many female studs till I got to college! Then you have students who act like they are still in their sophomore year of highschool, that's really something I don't understand. I've heard many people say that long distance relationships don't work out, but believe me, they can and faithfully too.

My boyfriend proposed to me last year, although I said yes, he's willing to wait for me to finish school. We both have priorities that we need to get straight first. We talk every day and night and see eachother alot too, but I don't let any of that interfere with my education. If you can juggle your social life with your education, then you're good.

Since college, I've been trying to do more with my life and keep my priorities straight because that's something I can only do for myself. I've changed within these past 2 years. There's nothing wrong with 'change' as long as it's for the good!

Hi, I am glad to hear that things are working out well for you in life, keep up the great work.
You are blessed to have someone that sees your value and is loyal to you which is not a common thing anymore. I commend you because while you could be pulled many ways (most young ladies and men as you know have someone or had someone back home), you choose to stay woth whay you have. I did not do that to keep it real. I heard T.D. Jakes preach that everyone is not mature at 21, 30, 40, 50, etc. The bible speaks of age and maturity, ever heard that old saying, 'ain't no fool like an old fool?' Ever been out in a club and seen older people acting and wearing things that should not be their anyway, far older than the average person there? Not cool is it? I was 26 when I went to FAMU after the Army, lets just say people still remember me...
There are some things that are not hitting me until now. We are all at where we are at via choice. I agree with you sis, there are people in my age range and far older I dwell all the time, like, how old are you? I see men and women well into their 30's, 40's, 50's etc. hanging with people that they should be mentoring to. I have told folk it is a darn shame to live 50 and 60 yrs and have nothing to share in life...
Anyway, I came across your blog, I commend you for speaking your mind.
Lastly it comes to my mind that environment, culture, upbringing etc.; has a large part to play in a persons life even though we still have God and choice. Many people grow up w/o mothers, fathers, suppoe\rt systems that are not positive and the bible states that God does not take away your Gift. One can be smart in certain areas that can take them into college and beyond, but? Think about Michael Vick, his brother etc. People we know with all sorts of gifts in many arenas in life. Look at O.J. a man of plus 60 that got away with murder in a worldly sense and is still being down right lets just say not wise. We have seen and know many who have great talents and what are they doing? Many people have learned things that we have not learned and all knowledge comes from God who does not force us to do anything.
Chances are if you look at the fruit that bore them chances are this is what you are seeing in the seed...
Anyway, hope something I said adds to this blog sis and keep on doing what you do.
