Who's Got Jokes?: Episode 11

Posted By: Guest Visitor on November 18, 2007 What’s Up Who’s Got Jokes Fans?! Here we are at Episode 11 -- DA SEMI-FINALS BABY!!! The most interesting thing about this episode was the challenge round. Usually the Who’s Got Jokes audience consists of a bunch of Black people in black T-shirts. When the contestants came back for the second round this time, it consisted of 100 White people in white T-shirts. LOL!!! They also had three White judges. It was funny as hell to see the contestants’ facial expressions when they came out. Only Karlous and Shawn made jokes about the challenge. I think this was very creative of the producers. As a comedian you have to be versatile with your set. You may arrive to a show and the entire audience may be Latino, Asian or White. A true comedian must know how to adjust on the spot, your Black stereotypical jokes may not always work. I’ll never forget when I was booked for a show in Woodbridge, VA. I pulled up to the bar and all I saw were Harley Davidson Motorcycles. The first thing to come to mind was “Awwww $#*%!” The audience was filled with bikers. I was more nervous than Kramer at the Hip Hop Awards, but I still did a good job. First up was the youngster Isiah Kelly. I mostly liked the way Isiah gave his dad comedian Gerald Kelly a shameless plug. You gotta give it up for the industries’ first father and son comedy duo. I liked his R. Kelly joke when he said he saw the X-rated video. He said he had to, because the girl was in his class. Still, the funniest thing about R. Kelly was that NAACP Image Award nomination a couple of years ago. Come on man, nominating R. Kelly for an Image Award is like giving the D.C. sniper the Nobel Peace Prize. LOL!!! It just don’t go together. Once again Justin Mitchell displayed his acting skills. This time he portrayed a mentally ill person, an abused child and a gay photographer. I’m not sure if it was a joke, but Justin said he’s been celibate for eight months. How any man does that, I don’t know. It don’t take much to get me turned on. I’ll let you all know about one of my fetishes. Although it’s old, I love a woman in the Victoria’s Secret’s Strawberry Champagne fragrance. It’s something in that damn Strawberry Champagne that makes me wanna get butt naked for a woman. LOL!!! It doesn’t matter if it’s the body splash, lotion, soap, hair grease, etc. – you can have Marion Kendrick! Support Strawberry Champagne ladies!!!! Then we had my man Karlous. Chicago gets its props for having the most contestants this season, but you gotta give Mississippi props with me and Karlous reppin’ also! Homeboy did his thang both sets. I think the judges messed him over in the first round. I think it’s a conspiracy against MS comedians -- just trippin’ America. To me, his funniest jokes were about treating relationships like cell phone minutes. He said they should just expire at some point. LOL!!! As I predicted, Shawn Morgan emerged as the episodes’ winner. Once again he came out cool and calm. I tripped out the most on his jokes about grown people with raggedy teeth. He said he dated a girl one time whose teeth looked like vertical blinds. He said before he’d kiss her he would look for a string on the side of her mouth. HILARIOUS!! I don’t think you should wait until you’re too old to get your teeth fixed either. I saw a 70-year- old man with braces. Why the HELL did you wait until you were 70 to get braces?! LOL!! Yo teeth been jacked up since The Great Depression and nowwww you wanna look cute??!! Let it go grand paw!! Make sure set your DVR’s to record the second round of the semi-finals next week. We have Tyler Craig, K-DUBB, Mozan, and Jeff B facing off.
