During Black History Month, we celebrate the achievements of Black Americans by honoring the brightest, the most talented, the most ambitious, the most generous and the most crusading members of our community. Whether it is Barack Obama’s political breakthroughs, Jay-Z’s entrepreneurial zeal or Marian Wright Edelman’s efforts for Katrina victims, there are so many in the black community making history today.



Topic: “Blacks Making History Today” – An African American who inspires you and is making a difference today.





Rules: Must be a student at Alabama A&M University

Essay must be at least 500 words and no more than 900 words

Essay must be sent in via email NLT 20 Feb 2008

Essay must include a separate cover page with the following information:

· Name

· Phone number (local or long distance)

· Address (local)

· Email

· Major and Minor

· Classification

· The African American you chose to write about
