Posted By: FBK Kidd on May 06, 2008 Wright On! As America moved right past Pastor Wright, black folks everywhere are slapping hands and giving each other high fives. 70's Afro style. Sho-nuff. No we are not rubbing it in America's face, we are bandaging it up--our wounds. It hurts that we are not allowed to talk about the hate that hate produced. The hate that Jeremiah Wright talked about. Oh when we bleed from hatred's wounds. Yes we need to move past our pain, past Wright's words onward to solutions and healing. Moving onward past the Rainbow demolition-- Fox news (O’Reilly and Hannity), past Limbaugh, past Scarborough, and yes dare I say, Past Pastor Wright. Onward past all who divide instead of unite. I may not like or agree with my friends positions on things, but a true friend never deserts another for having a different viewpoint. Understand Rev. Wright and I come from the same era. We have similar experiences dealing with White America. He has as I have earned the right to talk about her both good and bad. Freedom of Speech is a right. It speaks volumes to me about the true nature of a person who deserts a friend because of media pressure or to be elected to an office even president. This is still the United States of Race, and I'm sorry to grab you all by the collar and remind you of that fact. To see my people rallying behind Obama is great,but the fact check is you are putting a knife to your throats once again. This nation is still at least 12 years away from being ready to elect a black man to be president, and 4 years away from electing a woman. The old negative racist attitudes of whites, hispanics, and asians still resonate thoughout this nation especially within the baby boomer demographics. there aren't enough urban centers, blsck and white educational centers to counteract that vote. Obama will not be elected, and it will be the most onesided loss in the history of a National election. He is likeable but sorry not electable. I'm ashamed of so called Black Political Pundits that have refused to enlighten our people of that fact. they have lost their objectivity, and R. Martin, on My Perspective should be ashamed... You can't speak for all of your people whoever they are... FBK, the truth does hurt, but Wright is, uh, I mean Right is Right.... I am amazed that the same people who were around during the civil rights era are the same people today that discredit Senator Obama’s chance at winning. Black people, this election is not your pick three lottery or a popularity contest, this is the future of everyone concerned. When I am wrong, I am man enough to admit it. But good God almighty when are the baby boomers going to get behind anything black? The same folks who feel America isn’t ready for a black president didn’t believe in Dr. King claim him today as with Malcolm X.
