Ford Black College Road Trip - Seeking Recent HB

Ford Black College Road Trip - Seeking Recent HB
Posted By: Jon C. on June 25, 2008

Ford is offering up the road trip of a lifetime to two recent Historically Black College & University (HBCU) graduates as part of its 2008 Black College Road Trip. Dubbed "Roadies," the graduates will travel 13,000 miles across the U.S. for 92 days, in an all-new 2009 Ford Flex customized by Funkmaster Flex. They will visit HBCU Football Classic games in cities like Atlanta, New Orleans and Memphis while showing off the Flex and their HBCU pride. This marks Ford's eighth year of kicking off the program and the Ford Flex's debut on the "ultimate road trip."

While on the road, they will serve as Ford community ambassadors as they engage in activities within the local community and share stories about their own HBCU experience. They will also visit various African American historical landmarks and partner with key community organizations like the Susan G. Komen Foundation. At the games, the “Roadies” will participate in on and off field activities like pre-game parades, step-shows and halftime updates. Each week, they will tell their stories of good deeds and provide commentaries on the football games during the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show.

"We are extremely excited to again be on the search for this year's roadies," said Crystal Greene, Sponsorships & Diverse Markets Manager for Ford.

"We are looking forward to having the chance to work with some of the most talented HBCU graduates who embody the Ford personality with their positive, can-do attitudes, commitment to servicing the community and keen interest in the HBCU community. Being able to have these graduates drive the distinctive new vehicle from Ford across the country is truly a winning opportunity for the roadies and Ford. We are equally excited about having the chance to partner with Tom Joyner and the Tom Joyner Morning Show on this year's road trip."

Interested applicants must be energetic, preferably possess a background in communications or a related field and be eager to get their careers rolling with the 2008 Ford Black College Road Trip. For more information or to apply, please visit www.fordurban.com. Deadline for application submissions is July 18.
