Men it has been time for us to be leaders!

Posted By: DeFrance Gurley on July 27, 2008 The two major areas for effective leadership are: 1) communication and 2) motivation. That's it. Communication and Motivation. Communication boils down to talking to people about what is important and what God has said. Motivation is about sharing why these things are so important to us and why they should be important to others, as well. Communication is the time you spend regularly telling and retelling the simple truths of scripture (Deuteronomy 6:6-12). You and I both know that we need repitition in order for things to sink in. Motivation involves sharing why these truths are important and how they came to make such an impact on us (Deuteronomy 6:20-25). Communication is getting the facts out. God has said this. The Word of God says that. But Motivation is sharing about the impact on your life that practicing these principles has brought about or even the concern you have for those you love if they neglect these great truths (Hebrews 2:1-3). Communication comes from reciting and memorizing scripture. Motivation is the result of your personal time with God and allowing Him to speak to your heart in order that you may speak to your household. The clarity of this process and the import it has for us and our families really struck me greatly. Please think about this and pray over this and ask God how He would have you to implement it.
