Posted By: Jehan Bunch on August 25, 2008 The American Association of Museums (AAM) seeks an individual with superior customer service skills to join our member services team which provides services to a broad constituency; members, annual meeting and seminar delegates, and also to the general public. As a Member Services Assistant, you will play a key role in communicating information about AAM's programs, services, and membership benefits and assisting with general inquiries. Responsibilities will include: responding to inquiries such as those requesting information on membership eligibility or current membership status, general information about museums, AAM and AAM programs and providing general membership information as necessary, processing both new and renewing membership applications, serving as registration back-up for AAM annual meeting, managing deposits and recording credit card entry into iMIS database, handling International Council of Museums-United States (ICOM-US) membership processing, and managing AAM membership mailing process which includes mailing of membership cards and monthly membership renewals. Ideal candidate must possess a college degree or equivalent work experience, one to three years working in a customer service environment, experience inputting data into a database (preferably using iMIS), excellent communication, customer service and data-entry skills, strong organizational skills, knowledge of general accounting procedures, ability to work well under deadlines while managing multiple tasks; and strong attention to details. Salary is low $30's. The American Association of Museums is a national professional membership organization representing museums and museum professionals.
