To answer this question i think the ultimate romantic gesture would be a hug!! I hug can say alot when you just cant say what you are feeling!!!! A hug will comfort you in a sense where you just know you have the person who just knows what you are feeling and feels as if they can take the pain away by holding you tight and just comforting in a way that makes you feel secure in their arms. I like to write poetry and recite it to a lady. To me it takes creativity and shows that you pay attention to the details about her. I especially enjoy the smile that she tries to hide, but can't because she feels so good about herself!
