SAN DIEGO AUTHOR RELEASES BOOK OF POETRY THAT REACHES OUT TO YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE VICTIMS OF ASSAULT

Author - Burdella 'Carmen' Turner

San Diego, CA (BlackNews.com) - A new book has hit the stands at Barnes & Noble and other outlet that promises to be a best seller. The Breaker of the Storms, ISBN #9780595395972, published by iUniverse, retailing for $9.95, has come at a time in our country when young people are being assaulted at an alarming rate and need help from someone who cares. Nearly every family has been affected by some form of violent attack. Burdella 'Carmen' Turner has penned a book that expresses outrage, words of encouragement for victims of sexual assault while nearly pleading with adults to step up to the plate and do the right thing on behalf of young people. The Breaker of the Storms is not the standard "Roses are Red, Violets Are Blue" book of poetry. Rather, it is a profound collection of poignant poetry that has been referred to as 'heavy' by some readers and 'heart-wrenching' by others. However, it is recognized as a book that offers hope.

Turner wrote The Breaker of the Storms for those of us who have to deal with really serious problems or close to someone who does. Those who have been hurt, abused or raped may feel like ending it all, angry, hateful, lost and alone. Her book offers a connection to others feelings which brings hope to even the deepest pits of despair.

People of all ages can identify with stories and thoughts of those who have experienced similar and often shattering life-altering events.

"In my book I tell about truth and reveal what happens to people when they have to experience life at its most brutal level. My life ambition is to touch people, troubled youths, those who have rough decisions forced on them and those who struggle to find God's message in what they have experienced," stated Carmen.

Carmen has indeed touched many lives with her book. She takes her readers on a journey that leads to healing of their deepest hurt; often resulting in tears shed as they began the healing process. On the emotional roller-coaster that many assault victims experience, Carmen encourages her readers to acknowledge the hurt in order to move forward and live a healthy, productive life.

The Breaker of the Storms is available at www.thebreakerofthestorms.com or in retail outlets such as Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million as well as online at Amazon.com, Target.com and other major online merchants.

Ms. Turner is available for interviews or speaking engagements. She has appeared before hundreds of young and old alike in many venues. Carmen can be reached at (619) 559-1545. Visit her website at www.thebreakerofthestorms.com
